Callporch ("we", "us", or "our") operates callporch.com and provides a lead capture chat widget service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our service. By using Callporch, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide directly

  • Account information: When you create a Callporch account, we collect your name, email address, and password.
  • Billing information: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. We receive and store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
  • Site configuration: Domain names, notification email addresses, and widget customization settings you provide.

Information collected through your widget

When visitors interact with a Callporch widget installed on your website, we collect the information those visitors provide — typically name, email address, phone number, and answers to your custom questions. This information is collected on your behalf as a data processor.

Automatically collected information

  • IP addresses (used for rate limiting and spam prevention)
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and referring URLs
  • Date and time of requests

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Callporch service
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send lead notification emails to the address you specify
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, trial reminders, service notices)
  • Respond to support requests
  • Monitor and prevent abuse, spam, and fraud
  • Improve and develop new features
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information or visitor data to third parties. We do not use visitor lead data for our own marketing purposes.

3. Data sharing and disclosure

We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: We use trusted third-party services including Stripe (payments), Supabase (database), Resend (email), and Vercel (hosting). These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate data protection agreements.
  • Your integrations: If you configure webhook URLs or third-party integrations, lead data will be sent to those endpoints as directed by you.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority.
  • Business transfer: If Callporch is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Lead and conversation data is retained according to your plan:

  • Starter plan: 30 days
  • Pro, Agency, and Enterprise plans: Unlimited

When you cancel your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

5. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Object to or restrict processing of your information
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

6. Cookies

Callporch uses essential cookies to maintain your login session and provide core functionality. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The Callporch widget installed on your clients' websites does not set any cookies on visitors' browsers.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted data storage, row-level security on our database, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

Callporch is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

9. International transfers

Callporch is operated from the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using Callporch, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a prominent notice on our website. Your continued use of Callporch after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
